2008 world economy is shown how the top company CEO of the top SEVEN company leaders at a prestigious US investment banking group have declined multimillion-dollar bonuses 2008 due to the financial crisis.
Goldman Sachs chief executive Lloyd Blankfein – was taking $US68.5 million ($106.5 million) last year - and six other top officials told the board’s compensation committee they did not want a bonus
Blankfein, Presidents and Co-Chief Operating Officers Jon Winkelried and Gary Cohn, Chief Financial Officer David Viniar, and three vice chairmen — J. Michael Evans, Michael Sherwood and John Weinberg — asked the board’s compensation committee Sunday morning that they not receive a bonus, spokesman Lucas van Praag said.
Recently Goldman Sachs recently fired 3200 employees, or 10 per cent of its its global workforce.
Banks worldwide have fired more than 150,000 people since the credit crunch began..
